His stay at the Etihad stadium may not last as long as the fans would have hoped for after it was reported that the player has applied for Spanish lessons.
The club has claimed that it is to help the player in his communication with Pep Guardiola who speaks good English anyways.
According to reports, Haaland has a €180 million release clause in his contract that is only available to foreign clubs that can be activated in 2024.
Spanish LaLiga side, Real Madrid are planning to take advantage of this clause as they see the Norwegian striker as a perfect replacement for their French striker, Karim Benzema, who is entering his late 30s.
Meanwhile…
Tottenham Hotspur have received a slight boost in their pursuit of Netherlands forward, Memphis Depay as Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano analysed the situation of the Barcelona forward in the wake of their UCL exit.
After their huge spending this summer, the club will have to take more measures due to the exit, hence the club will be looking to take advantage of their current grace to reinforce their squad during the January transfer window as the rules will be more strict for them later in June.

The club is also expected to let some players leave too, with Gerard Pique announcing his retirement, other players are also to follow suit with Depay among them. Speaking to Caught Offside in his exclusive column, Fabrizio Romano explained his situation.
“Memphis Depay’s future is open. There’s a chance he will go in January, yes, but the decision also depends on the proposals, he’s free agent in June so he’d only accept a top club.” Antonio Conte is reported to have asked the club directors for more players and Depay could present a cheap option for them while Juventus remain interested too despite a failed move in the summer.
