Villareal CF Appoint Martín Pacheta As New Head Coach

Villarreal CF have appointed José Rojo Martín ‘Pacheta’ as new head coach until the end of the season after both parties reached an agreement for the manager from Burgos to become the Submarine’s head coach alongside Pacheta, Chema Monzón (assistant head coach), Jorge Trigueros (fitness coach) and Guille Galmes as analyst.

The coach from Burgos will be officially presented in the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground as he will look to get the Yellow Submarines to a winning start.
José Rojo Martín ‘Pacheta’ had a long career as a professional footballer and his career as a professional head coach began on the bench of CD Numancia, and he later managed Real Oviedo, FC Cartagena, Korona Kielce of Poland, Hercules, Ratchaburi Mitr Phol of Thailand, Elche, Huesca and Valladolid.
His successes as a head coach include two promotions to the First Division with Elche and Valladolid. In fact, it is worth mentioning that with the Elche team he achieved two promotions, one to the second division and the other to the first division.
Prior to this official confirmation, Real Madrid Castilla boss Raúl was one of the early favourites for the role, however, there has been a delay in response from the former Real Madrid player and Villarreal did not want to wait any longer to make the decision.
The Castellón club reportedly want the tactician from Burgos to be in charge of the squad as quickly as possible to prepare for the upcoming match against Almería after the international break.

Barça are hopeful that in the coming weeks, they will be able to finalise the renewal of Balde, which was agreed with the player and Jorge Mendes before the start of the team’s summer tour of the United States.
Manchester City’s interest in acquiring the left-back’s services is one of the reasons why Barça are still frustrated with the English club according to sources at the club.

According to these reports, City even discussed the possibility of linking Balde’s operation with the departure of Joao Cancelo to the Catalan giants although the Portuguese wing-back has ended up arriving at the reigning Spanish champions on loan from City for one year but without an option to buy.
