UWCL: Bayern And 23 Others Set to Fight For Group Stage Tickets

German Bundesliga women’s side, FC Bayern Munich are playing against Real Sociedad de Fútbol for a place in the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. That was the result of the draw on Thursday in Nyon, Switzerland.

The German runners-up have an away game against the Spaniards and play the second leg in front of a home crowd.
The first clash will take place on September 20th or 21st, and the second game on September 28th or 29th.
“It’s going to be an interesting game but I think we have a good chance of qualifying. We are optimistic and positive about that. It will be a good challenge for us.” said Bayern coach Alexander Straus.

In the second round of the Champions League Qualifiers divided into Champions and League Path, a total of twelve (12) teams will be determined that will make it into the group stage.
Defending champions Olympique Lyon, FC Barcelona, and German Champions, VfL Wolfsburg and FC Chelsea have directly qualified for the group stage. The group stage will be drawn on October 3rd.
With star newcomer and European champion Georgia Stanway, the Bayern women are hoping for the big coup in the Qualifiers for the first time this year. Last season, the team failed in the quarterfinals. The Munich team had previously reached the semi-finals twice.
