With the summer transfer window less than a month away from being open, it looks like English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur have finally settled on their choice of coach and it’s not the top names that were linked to the club, at least not the well known names.
Three days ago, there was a report of sports analyst, Phil Brown suggesting that Spurs should make a move for Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou and it looks like that advice has been taken according to latest reports.
It’s stated that Tottenham will ramp up their move for Postecoglou after Celtic’s Scottish Cup final clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday evening, which will be their last game for the season.
Daniel Levy is understood to have been left very impressed with Postecoglou’s work at Celtic and now wants him at Tottenham. While they were looking to land a young, up-and-coming manager with Feyenoord’s Arne Slot most fitting, alongside Julian Nagelsmann.
But the Feyenoord coach has come out to announce that he woukd be staying with the newly crowned Dutch League champions week, Spurs are turning to Postecoglou, even if he doesn’t quite fit at 57 years of age, but they’re hoping that he can bring his superb brand of football to North London club.
The report also highlights that Scott Munn is a real admirer of Postecoglou as Tottenham prepare their move. Munn is arriving as Tottenham’s new chief football officer this summer and will effectively work as Levy’s right-hand man, taking over from the suspended Fabio Paratici.
The connections between Munn and Postecoglou are clear. Firstly, both are Australians. Postecoglou is certainly the most high-profile Australian manager around right now and coached their national team from 2013 to 2017.
Spanish side, Villarreal have reportedly taken their defender, Juan Foyth ofd the transfer market, in an apparent transfer blow to Tottenham and Barcelona. Despite the need to bring in funds through players sales, Foyth would not considered, instead the likes of Pau Torres and Nicolas Jackson are the ones earmarked for sales.

The 25-years old has long-since been linked with a move to Camp Nou as one of their top targets. Also, Tottenham since the days of Pochettino and even Antonio Conte have been linked with the defender.
However the Yellow Submarine consider him an unsellable player, according to report from Spain. His release clause increased from €42m to €54.2m last summer and the only way of signing him is to pay that clause and hope the player doesn’t reject the move either.
