The striker was taken off after suffering an injury during the early minutes of the game following a tackle from an opposition player.
Bayern assistant manager Dino Toppmoeller had assured the Senegalese federation with his words about the former Liverpool man’s safety but it seems to all be different from the real story.
“Mane was shot in the leg, but it’s nothing serious. His participation in the World Cup is not at risk.” He said after the game.
However, reliable French publication L’Equipe and Spanish outlet AS are reporting that the the 39 year old could miss the World Cup due to the hamstring problem.
“He received a blow to the top of the shin. This is an uncomfortable place. It needs to be X-rayed to clarify,” were the words of coach Julian Nagelsmann at the post-match press conference.
We wait to hear the official confirmation regarding the knock from the Senegalese FA and his club Bayern Munich.

Despite the blow to their star man, the Bavarians still went in to post an impressive performance in the game as they put six goals past Werder Bremen.
Serge Gnabry’s hat trick, Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka and Mathys Tel’s goals were enough to shoot Bayern to a four point advantage over second place Freiburg who play on Wednesday.
