English Women’s Soccer League (WSL) outfit, Liverpool FC has announced the signing of Teagan Micah.
The goalkeeper joins Matt Beard’s Reds from FC Rosengard in Sweden, where she has played since 2021.
Micah is part of the Australia squad that will commence their Women’s World Cup campaign this week against the Republic of Ireland.
After a stellar college career in the USA at UCLA, Micah played with Norwegian sides Arna-Bjonar and Sandviken before her switch to Rosengard and had a stint with Melbourne City in her home nation.
Rosengard has lifted the last two league titles in Sweden, while Micah also picked up valuable Champions League experience in her time with the club.
The 25-year-old is hoping her presence with LFC Women will attract even more Australian fans to the club and is keen to get started later in the summer.
The fixtures for the 2023/2024 WSLL season will be dolled out on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
11 teams from last season’s campaign will go into the draw to know their opponents for the opening match except relegated Reading FC.
English Women’s Championship winners, Bristol City will take the place of Reading FC for the draw.
Chelsea FC retained the WSL title last season and also qualified for the group stage of the 2023/2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL).
Manchester United and Arsenal also qualified for the 2023/2024 UWCL.
