Serie A sides, AC Milan and AS Roma will battle it out for the signature of Manchester United’s Portuguese defender, Diogo Dalot according to recent reports.
The seven-time European champions have been tracking the 21-year old for some time now and look set to make an official bid to secure his services. It is believed that AC Milan would like to take the Portugal under-21 fullback on an initial loan deal, potentially including an option to buy in the deal with talks reportedly progressing well.
Roma would also like to have Dalot in the Italian capital as they look to improve the depth of the squad for the manager, Paulo Fonseca. The Giallorossi have reportedly tried to include the Portuguese in the negotiations for fellow Manchester United defender, Chris Smalling but the Red Devils would prefer the negotiations to be separated.
Talks for the player by both clubs should continue possibly until the final moments in the transfer market. Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let the defender leave, but only on a permanent basis.
