Paris Saint-Germain is set to offer Xavi Simons to Tottenham in deal to sweeten in- demand England captain, Harry Kane after the French champions activated his buyback clause for just £5m from PSV Eindhoven according to multiple reports.
More Details
Ligue 1 champions are reportedly interested in signing Harry Kane and are planning to include Xavi Simons in their offer for the Tottenham striker although as reported yesterday, RB Leipzig are leading the race to bring the Dutch star to Germany.
Simons has only returned to the Ligue 1 champions this summer after they activated a £5million buyback clause previously agreed with PSV Eindhoven after a blistering season where the 20 year old contributed 19 goals and nine assists in 49 appearances for PSV last season.
Bayern Munich have been pushing hardest to sign Kane this summer with the German giants having already seen a bid rejected and are seen as front-runners for his signature but with the report from Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, PSG are also in the race and think they can win it by including Simons as part of a swap deal plus cash.

In another plot twist, L’Équipe have reported that Dutch attacking midfielder, Xavi Simons who will return to PSG after a year in Eindhoven after they activated the €6m buy-back clause in the 20-year-old’s contract will join RB Leipzig on loan.
PSG will discuss with the player whether to integrate him into the first team or allow another season of development away from Ligue 1 after an impressive campaign for PSV, in which he ended as the Eredivisie’s joint-top goal-scorer with 19 strikes.

The preference is for the latter, with both Simons and the club agreeing on RB Leipzig as the preferred destination. For the player to stay at PSG this term, he would need guarantees on playing time under new coach Luis Enrique and for at least one of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, both major obstacles to first-team football, to leave Paris this summer.
