It looks like the Los Blancos aren’t done with Chelsea as they’re eyeing a move for Chelsea defender, James Reece to solve their problem at the right back.

Their interest in the right-back spot follows growing uncertainty in their defense, with Lucas Vazquez, primarily a winger, often having to fill in for Dani Carvajal, who spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch last season.

The Los Blancos were prepared to take advantage of the growing uncertainty that surrounded the English Premier League side over their ownership status.

Talks of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu has intensified for the English defender since Real Madrid defeated the Blues two months ago, on their way to winning the UEFA Champions League title, defeating Manchester City and Liverpool as well.

Chelsea will soon resolve the issue of their ownership and the new owners will reportedly open talks with the player and other players with expiring contracts as they look to ward off interest in their important players after losing Andres Christensen and Rudiger.

Right now, it would be hard to convince the Blues to let the player leave as the future of club captain, Cesar Azpiliqueta is far from certain even if the club already triggered the one year contract extension clause in his contract, he could still leave this summer as talks of an interest from Barcelona continues to grow.

Real Madrid know that it would be hard to sign James now, so they’re prepared to wait for one or two seasons before making their move as they continue to work on convincing the player that a move to the Spanish capital would be of great benefit to his career.

Barcelona are set to challenge Atletico Madrid for the signing of Argentine defender, Manuel Molina as they seek for options to beef up their right-back position. Barça already have three options for the right-back slot at the club in the form of Sergino Dest, Dani Alves and Sergi Roberto.

Among the three, Alves is out of contract at the end of the month and a decision over his extension is yet to be made. Dest is rumored to be on his way out of the club while Roberto is primarily a midfielder.

Though, the Blaugrana have been linked with Shakhtar Donestk defender, Dodo, they’re keeping their options open and want to explore the option of the Udinese defender, but they have to battle with Atletico Madrid for the player.

Udinese have already set his price tag at €30 million, a figure too high for the two teams, but they will be hoping to bring the price down during negotiations.
