Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti has thrown his weight behind the creation of the Super League, citing the number of games players are now forced to play as the reason why he supports the project.
More Details
Earlier before the season started, some top European clubs announced the creation of Super League but it was quickly abandoned due to the condemnation that followed but three teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus) still believe in it and have refused to denounce their membership, unlike the remaining clubs that left.

Real Madrid coach has also showed solidarity to the League. The Real Madrid boss believes that football’s governing bodies need to reduce the number of international breaks during a season to just two. “[The solution is having] fewer games, I reiterate it, and two stops for the national teams,” noted Ancelotti.
“I spoke with [FIFA’s Head of Global Football Development, Arsene] Wenger. The footballers, I am sure, would lower their salary if the calendar was cut, and the coaches the same. “Football, as it is, does not hold. The idea of the Super League was born from the demand for this change.”
The Italian tactician also reiterated his trust in Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior and stated that he would continue to play in his role in the team, no matter the player the club signs,
“Vini is a player who has to be on the left and he is going to continue playing there, whoever his teammate is.” It should be recalled that the Los Blancos have been heavily linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe and given the fact that the French striker likes to play from the wings, this statement from Ancelotti is proof that he doesn’t intend to bench Vinicius Jr for Mbappe if the French striker eventually moves to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.

Ancelotti also revealed that the club president, Florentino Perez has big plans for the club in the seasons to come, citing the renovations going on at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium as a perfect example. “Florentino has very serious intentions.

“In one year, at the end of December 2022, the new [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu will be ready and Florentino has big plans for July. The club have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the summer but Ancelotti was quick to avoid the question when asked, [Signing Erling] Haaland in addition to [Kylian] Mbappe? Let’s talk about it later.”
Despite the effects of the corona virus pandemic on world economy, the club are still ambitious as ever and are looking to further strengthen the club with high quality players.
