The 23 year old has a contract that expires in eighteen months with talks of a renewal having started a few months ago.
However, fresh reports from Gazzetta on Tuesday morning have it that talks between the club and Leao’s entourage have stalled at the moment.
He report says that both parties have stopped speaking as there’s an obvious disagreement in what the release clause should be.
The club proposed a five year renewal and a release clause set at €150m with both parties starting on the same page until latest reports came out otherwise.
Leao through his representatives has asked the club to reduce the release clause from the proposed €150 to between €70-80m, a request which has been refused by the club.
The club is now showing displeasure at the attitude of the player towards the renewal after director Paolo Maldini held futile talks with the player.
Milan could now be forced into selling the player in the summer to avoid losing him for free in twelve months, Chelsea have been on his trail for a while and a deal could be lowly come the end of the campaign.

Injury plagued Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzolla has been confirmed injured after his involvement in the club’s Sunday game against Napoli.
The 29 year old has suffered with injuries for most of his career and has now been ruled out for another four weeks after coming off at halftime in Naples.

The former Juventus player was only making his first start since suffering a problem to his muscles in October last year.
The report went on to clarify that the latest setback is a severe sprain to his thigh muscle.
