PSG will be without two influential defensive figures in captain Marquinhos and veteran Sergio Ramos as they host Rennes today for the Ligue 1 round 28 clash with Juninho backing angry club fans decision to mock Lionel Messi who they described as passionless in crucial games for the club after their bitter round 16 UCL exit against Bayern Munich.
More Details
PSG will be without Neymar Jr. and Presnel Kimpembe as they recover from injury, and Galtier has serious defensive issues with Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos, Nordi Mukiele and Achraf Hakimi all fitness concerns just now ahead of the Ligue 1 round 28 Rennes home clash.
Although Rennes are also without top scorer Martin Terrier, a long-term injury victim, while Jérémy Doku and Warmed Omari missed last week’s game at Auxerre due to injury and suspension respectively.
Just two months have passed since these clubs last met in a Ligue 1 Uber Eats clash in Brittany. Rennes emerged 1-0 winners at Roazhon Park on January 15 with Hamari Traoré scoring the only goal of the game as the season belatedly reached its halfway stage following the lengthy pause for the World Cup.
A lot has changed since that night, when PSG’s defeat left them just three points clear at the top of the table from Lens. Christophe Galtier’s side have since been eliminated from both the UEFA Champions League and the Coupe de France, leaving them with just their defence of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats title to focus on. Their lead at the top of the table, meanwhile, has increased to a surely insurmountable 10 points.
Meanwhile…
Lyon legend and the club’s current sporting director Juninho has backed PSG fans’ decision to boo Lionel Messi stating that the Argentine does not deliver in the Champions League like every other player and should not be exempt from the boos.
PSG fans are furious with the players after yet another exit from the UEFA Champions League. The Ligue1 side were beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 and are now left waiting for another year to get their hands on the European trophy.

Ahead of the home game against Rennes today, PSG club ultras have a plan to boo him.
Speaking on RMC Sport, Juninho claimed that he would not be surprised if Messi got booed by the PSG fans. He said:
“Even if he is Messi, he is still a human being. In the fans’ minds, the last game he’s in is the Bayern game and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he gets booed.”
“We play, we are well paid, we do a job that we really like but in the end, it is for the fans that we do everything. Even if he is Messi and even if he scored 35 goals this season, it’s normal to boo him; the fans have every right to do so.”
