Pots Revealed Ahead Of Women’s Champions League Group Stage Draw

With the 16 teams expected to take part in the group stage of the 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League confirmed, the pots for next week’s draw have been revealed.

The 16 teams have been categorised into four pots of four teams which will set the tone for next Monday’s draw.

2020/2021 Champions and Spanish Liga F powerhouse, FC Barcelona Femeni is in Pot 1 alongside Barclays English FA Women’s Super League (WSL) Champions, Chelsea FC Women, holders, Lyon, and German Bundesliga Women’s Champions and last season’s semi-finalist, Wolfsburg.

Pot 2 houses the Czech side, Slavia Prague, WSL runners-up, Arsenal FC Women, French D1 Arkema vice Champions, PSG, and German league second placed team last season, Bayern Munich.


Real Madrid (Spain), Juventus (Italy), Rosengard (Sweden), and St. Polten (Austria) are in Pot 3.

Pot 4 comprises AS Roma (Italy), SL Benfica (Portugal), FC Zurich (Switzerland), and Vllaznia (Albania).

The draw will take place on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 13:00 CET.

The Italian side, AS Roma, will be making its debut appearance in the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League making it two Italian sides in the group stage alongside Champions, Juventus.

Lyon won the last UEFA Women’s Champions League, dethroning FC Barcelona Femeni in the final.
