The Ukrainian international now joins a growing list of players who are out injured, including Marcus Bettinelli, Reece James, Carney Chukwuemeka, Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, and Christopher Nkunku.

On their official website, Chelsea confirmed the news regarding Mudryk and stated that he is now “starting rehabilitation after undergoing assessments on an injury sustained in training this week.”

After another pathetic performance in a Chelsea jersey in the 3-1 loss at West Ham the previous time out, Mauricio Pochettino was compelled to defend Mudryk. The Argentine manager, though, is adamant that the £88.5m signing will finally succeed.

When asked what he thought of Mudryk’s performance and what was wrong, Pochettino said, “Well, I think he needs to be more in the spirit to score.

‘He’s a young player that needs to be trusted, we need to trust in him to create this relationship with us and with the team.

‘He has enormous quality and talent, I think it’s only [a matter of] time for him to settle better in the team and for sure he will find the way to perform in the way that we expect.’

Meanwhile…

According to rumors, Arsenal is still eager to offload seven players before the summer transfer market closes on September 1.

According to football.london, the Arsenal now have a bloated squad of 32 players and are trying to trade a number of stars to reduce that number.

While Marquinhos and Runar Alex Runarsson have departed on loan, Arsenal has so far parted ways permanently with Granit Xhaka, Pablo Mari, Auston Trusty, and Matt Turner. With striker Folarin Balogun being one of the seven players Arsenal is trying to get rid of, more players may be leaving the Emirates.
