Ons Jabeur, Iga Swiatek Set Up A Mouthwatering Final At The Rome Open

World No.1 Iga Swiatek, who is on a 27-match winning streak, will take on world No.7 Ons Jabeur, who is on an 11-match winning streak, in the Rome final.

The Italian Open final is here and it is the two most in form women on the WTA side that will take centre stage on Sunday.

World number One, Iga Swiatek and World number seven, Ons Jabeur will seek to outwit the other with both on match winning streaks.

Tunisian Jabeur reached the final in Rome after beating Daria Kasatkina in the semifinals, 6-4 1-6 7-5, recording a 21-0 this season when she wins the 1st set.

She completed another epic comeback in Rome, saving a match point with a line clipper to beat the Russian number one.


Ons Jabeur is the fourth player ever to reach the final in both Madrid and Rome in a single year after Dinara Safina in 2009, Serena Williams in 2013 and Simona Halep in 2017.

For Iga Swiatek, she cruised into the final of the Italian Open on Saturday after crushing Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 to put her one game from a fifth straight tournament win.

With this win over Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek reaches the final in Rome for the second year in a row and ties Serena Williams’ 27 matches winning-streak.

The Polish tennis player is the seventh player to reach two finals in Rome before turning 21 after Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Gabriela Sabatini, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis and Venus Williams. Diamond.


It’s another final for Mayar Sherif as the Egyptian glided to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Anna Bondar in Karlsruhe Germany.

Sherif, who started the year 1-8, has now reached the championship match in 2 of her last 4 events, lifting the WTA 125 trophy in Marbella this March.
