Karim Benzema, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, and now Neymar have all followed Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia due to the oil-rich nation’s enticing salary for top athletes.
Twellman thinks there is a chance to take advantage of the attention that MLS is receiving as a result of Messi’s arrival.
You know what the next All-Star game I would do? Saudi Arabia All-Stars versus MLS All-Stars, and I would put it in the Rose Bowl. I would put it in the Rose Bowl and have Messi versus Ronaldo that one last time,’ the MLS Season Pass analyst said on the Dan Le Batard show with Stugotz on Monday.
‘I would tap into this,’ he continued. ‘Because it is a real, interesting topic among the both leagues and how they’re going about their business. Messi’s lit MLS on fire, you now have younger players here in MLS versus the older players in Saudi Arabia.
‘But both leagues are now on the radar of the world market that they weren’t six, eight, 12 months ago. I would play into the Messi-Ronaldo thing in two seconds.

According to a recent report in his home Spain, Sergio Ramos would rather continue his career in Europe than sign with a Major League Soccer team.
Similar to Lionel Messi, who has now joined Inter Miami, the defender is a free agent after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.
Ramos, though, who is 37, recently traveled to the US but does not intend to settle there. The former Real Madrid defender, according to the Spanish daily Marca, “has a desire to play for a top European club that is in the Champions League.”
