Qatar’s head of state, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thank had given Messi the robe to celebrate the triumph with the trophy.

Al-Barwani justified the occasion despite criticisms from the Western World stating that wearing the robe on the PSG star man was benefiting and a statement to the world of their cultural heritage.

“I was at the Stadium watching that moment live when the emir or Qatarvgave Messi the bishit. This moment told the World that we are here, and this is our culture, please know it well.”

“(The bishit) is a symbol of many things including wisdom, bravery, integrity, generosity and authenticity, and most importantly, it tells who we are, al-Barwani said.

He however revealed he wanted the robe not for himself but for it to be displayed to celebrate their heritage and relive the historical moment.

“It will be displayed to commemorate the moment of prode, and to help us relive it, and to also remind us that we can do anything)”.

ESPN football writer Gabriele Marcott has disclosed that he doesn’t see why Lionel Messi should be in a rush to sign a new contract extension with PSG.

Marcotti believes it makes sense for Lionel Messi to extend his PSG contract, but feels there is no need to rush a new deal.

Asked if it was the right decision for Messi to sign a one year contract extension as reported some days ago, the Marcotti said he even though he doesn’t think the story is true, the player should take his time before making a decision on his future.

RMC reported that the World Cup most valuable player had reached a verbal agreement for a year extension to his contract which ought to expire by 2024 and should be finalised when he returns to training.
