OFFICIAL: Thiago Motta Is The New Spezia Boss

Special have officially announced the appointment of Thiago Motta as the manager of the first team as the new season approaches.

The Italian club lost its former manager, Vincenzo Italiano, this summer after he triggered an €1 million option to free him up from his contract with Spezia in order to join Fiorentina.

The Aquilotti have now turned to the former PSG and Inter Milan player to lead the first team next season after agreeing a three-year deal with the Brazilian born Italian.

38-year-old Motta had previously been in charge of Genoa in 2019 following a short spell with the PSG youth set up, but a run of inconsistent results meant that his time with the Rossoblu was short lived.

“I am truly happy to be here and proud of the faith shown in me by the Platek family, Director Pecini and the whole club,” Motta told the club’s official website.
