Official: Linda Caicedo Joins Real Madrid

The 18-year-old Colombian striker, Linda Caicedo has joined Spanish Liga F side, Real Madrid from Deportivo Cali in Colombia.

She is one of the most promising young talents in world football.
The 18-year-old striker comes to the Spanish capital club after shining in the Colombian league, a competition she has won twice.
The first of these was with América de Cali when she scored in the final despite being only 14 years old.

Since 2020 she has played for Deportivo Cali, where she won the title in 2021.
Despite her youth, she has excelled in the Colombian national team and was voted player of the tournament at the 2022 Copa America.
Additionally, she played a key role in the U-17 World Cup in 2022, where she reached the final with Colombia and also won the Silver Ball.

France captain Wendie Renard said on Friday that she will not play at this year’s Women’s World Cup to preserve her mental health, adding that she “can no longer support the current system.”

Two other players, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani followed suit later on Friday.
Renard, who is widely considered to be one of the best defenders in women’s football, played for France in international games against Norway, Denmark, and Uruguay earlier this month.
The 32-year-old has 142 caps for France and plays for French side Lyon.
