The first signing of the Vlatko Andonovski era in Kansas City is 15-year-old Alex Pfeiffer, who joined the club on a three-year deal.

More Details

The forward has spent significant time in the United States (U.S.) youth national team pool at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 levels.

Pfeiffer is the fourth-youngest signing in National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) history, behind Olivia Moultrie, Melanie Barcenas and Chloe Ricketts.

She decided to make the jump to the pros after attending a talent identification camp held by the Current, according to The Athletic.

For the national team, the international break has wrapped up for the USWNT, but my takeaways linger as the team awaits their next head coach.

The success of Jaedyn Shaw and Mia Fishel supports the idea that competition is warranted in the forward positions.

The team also needs to be more flexible in their formation, after two more games with a conservative midfield.

Former Spain federation president Luis Rubiales has been banned from all activities related to the sport for three years, FIFA announced Monday.

The ban comes after Rubiales’ nonconsensual at the 2023 World Cup final.

Rubiales had been serving a 90-day suspension in the aftermath of the World Cup.

Once defiant, Rubiales resigned as federation president on September 10, and Spain manager Jorge Vilda was fired days earlier.

Vilda has since been named head coach of the Morocco women’s team.
