United States of America (USA) National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced that French midfielder Clarisse Le Bihan has signed a new contract with the club through 2024 with a mutual option for 2025.
Le Bihan occupies one of the club’s international spots, after she was acquired via transfer from French women’s top-flight side, Montpellier HSC in June 2022.
“I’m delighted to extend my contract with Angel City,” stated Le Bihan on the club website.
“Representing LA and playing in front of our amazing fans is a privilege. It means a lot to me and I can’t wait to get back to it. There is a great season ahead of us. I’m sure we will keep writing history together and making our fans proud.”
In the past two seasons with ACFC, Le Bihan has appeared in 41 total matches in all competitions, earning three goals and four assists in 2,236 minutes on the pitch.
In 2023, she averaged 44.5 passes per match with a success rate of 69 percent.
Before joining the club, Le Bihan spent six seasons with Montpellier, appearing in 109 total matches and scoring 29 goals.
She has 16 caps with the French Women’s National Team, earning four goals. She also won a European Championship with the U19 French Women’s National Team in 2013, was a member of the 2016 Olympic French Women’s National Team as a substitute, and played in the 2017 Euro Championships in the Netherlands.
Le Bihan began her professional career in 2009, playing seven years for En Avant Guingamp. She attended Université Catholique de l’Ouest Bretagne Nord for two years and Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 for one year.
Angel City has selected three players in the 2024 NWSL draft: midfielder Felicia Knox from the University of Alabama, midfielder Jessica Garziano from St. Johns University, and defender MadiFtson Curry from Princeton.

Knox, a Kansas City native, was in attendance to hear her name called in person at the Anaheim Convention Center.
“I’m so excited and overwhelmed and all the emotions,” said Knox after being selected. “I can’t really put it into words right now.”
After the pick came in, several dozen ACFC fans welcomed her with chants and scarves. “It’s amazing—if they’re showing up here, I can only imagine what the games are like,” said Knox. “I’m excited to get started. I’m excited about the team and the culture and to get to experience what it’s like to be an Angel City player.”
Knox was a celebrated attacking mid at Alabama, where she holds the school record for career assists, as well as the single-season records for assists and assists per game. She was a first-team All-SEC honoree in 2022 and 2023 and was named SEC Midfielder of the Year in 2022.
