NWSL: Ebony Salmon Is Proving People Wrong

She didn’t get a chance to play this weekend due to COVID-19 protocols, but Ebony Salmon has become vital for the Houston Dash.

More Details

The striker has scored nine goals this season, all of them coming after her trade to Houston from Racing Louisville.

“I’ve obviously had to prove people wrong, and having that weight on my shoulders makes me perform,” Salmon told Just Women’s Sports.

“If I wasn’t ready, I don’t think I would have had the start I did and scored the goals that I have, and the performances that I had.”

After being excluded from the 2022 Euro roster, Salmon is also back in the mix for England’s national team, having been called up for friendlies in early September.

“The main thing was consistency,” Salmon said. “And I think I’m starting to find that now.”
