Milan Pushed Back In Their Pursuit Of German Winger

Julian Brandt has poured cold water on media speculations linking him with a move to Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan.

The Germany international winger has been subject of a transfer move to Milan in recent weeks as the Italian club looks to further improve its roaster for Stefano Pioli before the new season begins.

Technical director, Paulo Maldini has completed permanent moves for Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali, two players that spent the previous season on loan with the Rossoneri. He has also added Mike Maignan from Lille, Olivier Giroud from Chelsea while Brahim Diaz had returned to the club for another loan spell.

Milan were reportedly prepared to offer up to €25 million for the Borussia Dortmund winger but would prefer to structure the deal as an initial loan with an option to make the move permanent next season.

Brandt has however spoken about the speculations in a recent interview to RTL, the player ruled out a move away from Dortmund this summer even though he appreciates the interests of other clubs.

“Of course, it’s nice when other clubs express interest. But from my side, there has never been any signs that I was thinking about a transfer. I don’t think I’ll be playing anywhere else this year.” the 25-year-old said.

It will be interesting to see if Milan would take a step back or push even further in their bid to secure the player’s signature.
