Mbappe Not keen On Contract Extension With PSG

L’Equipe reports that France international, Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint Germain that he would not be extending his contract at the club.
The report comes just a few days after the French national team were knocked out of the European Championship by Switzerland with Mbappe missing the decisive penalty,
The 23-year-old however informed top officials of the French club that he is fully prepared to honor his contract at the French capital. The contract is expected to run out at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Mbappe joined PSG in the 2017/18 season on an initial loan move before making the transfer permanent the following season for a fee believed to be in the region of €180 million, a world record at the time. Since joining the club, he has gone on to win multiple titles and individual awards, which has made him one of the biggest assets in world football.
Mbappe is believed to be courted by several clubs including Liverpool and Real Madrid, the club he has always dreamt of playing for. The Spanish club are reported to also be interested in the World Cup winner but the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on their finances means that they are currently unable to spend big in the transfer market like they often do.
This development will surely come as a surprise to PSG president, Nasser El Khelaifi who stated in a recent interview with Marca that Mbappe “is a PSG player and will continue to be a PSG player.”
Real Madrid will be monitoring the situation closely as they hope to position themselves as a possible destination for Mbappe next summer.
