Mason Greenwood has officially been unveiled by Getafe after controversially joining on loan from Manchester United.
More Details
The forward was presented to the LaLiga club’s supporters at their Coliseum stadium in Madrid alongside their other summer signings.
Greenwood emerged from the tunnel accompanied by pyrotechnics and smoke and walked toward the centre of the pitch to speak to the crowd. His partner, Harriet Robson, with whom he shares a child, was also present in the stands and she took to her Instagram handle to share the beautiful moments alongside a ‘daddy’ jersey for her new born.
Mason Greenwood during his presentation told everyone in attendance that he is feeling good’ and ‘happy to be here’ as he later took to his Instagram page to reflect on his ‘amazing first day’.
“We take [it] one game at a time. I know the next home game is coming up soon. We are going to try and win it and do our best”, he added.
Getafe were branded tone deaf after hailing ‘MasonMania’ on social media following his arrival but put on a glitzy display for the player’s welcome regardless.
The Coliseum dressed up to present the three new Getafe footballers: Óscar Rodríguez, Diego Rico and Mason Greenwood.
The three posed on the grass with their new shirts in front of more than 5,000 fans who did not want to miss the event. At the end, the three footballers signed autographs and took photos with fans.
Meanwhile…
Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal refused to back World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso when questioned about the nonconsensual kiss given to the player by suspended RFEF president Luis Rubiales, saying that it was not for him to say whether Hermoso was a victim of sexual assault.
In a missive that Carvajal put his name too, the side stated that Rubiales had ‘not lived up to the institution he represents’.

But the 31-year-old was more reticent on the subject of Hermoso herself when questioned by reporters ahead of Spain’s 2024 Euro qualifying tie against Georgia on Friday, urging focus back onto the upcoming match and keen to ‘sidestep’ additional questions.
