Manchester United Snap World Cup Winner On Deadline Day

Manchester United have announced the signing of Spain international Irene Guerrero on a permanent deal on the transfer deadline day in the English Women’s Super League (WSL).

The midfielder joins United following spells with Real Betis, Levante, and most recently Atletico Madrid.
This summer saw Irene’s Spain side crowned world champions at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, following a 1-0 victory over England in the final on 20 August.
Irene Guerrero said: “I feel very happy and very privileged to be here.
“I am very proud to be part of the Manchester United family and look forward to achieving all our goals together.”
The coach of the team, Marc Skinner is proud to have a World Cup winner in the team’s fold ahead of their challenge this season.
The Reds will play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in the club’s history this season.

United also confirmed that striker, Ivana Ferreira Fuso has joined Barclays Women’s Championship side Birmingham City on a permanent deal.

The Brazil international joined United in the summer of 2020 and made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals in the process – including a memorable strike in our League Cup victory over Manchester City at Leigh Sports Village in November 2021.
Ivana spent a successful 2022/2023 season on loan at German side Bayer 04 Leverkusen and everyone at Manchester United wishes her the best of luck for the next stage of her career.
