More Detail
The Reds have tried to hold on to the former Madrid CFF defender but to no avail.
Her contract with the Manchester side will expire this summer as she intends to stage a move to the 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) finalist.
Reports over the weekend have indicated that the full-back was expected to move back to the club she began her career with and highly respected Spanish sports journalist Maria Tikas confirmed there has been an agreement between the player and the club for a number of weeks.
Ona started her career with FC Barcelona at the age of 14 before playing for the likes of Madrid CFF and Levante from where she joined United.
With nine assists in the English Women’s Super League (WSL), Ona is one of the top assisters of the season.
She had also been nominated for the Barclays English Women’s Super League Player of the Season.
She was instrumental in helping Mark Skinner’s side qualify for the UWCL for the first time in the team’s history.
Meanwhile…
As United losses the battle to hold on to Batlle, a piece of good news is coming for another player, Alessia Russo.

Women’s football writer, Graham Falk believes much of the sticking point on Russo’s contract was the length of the deal.
A contention over a six-year contract extension is on the table.
It appears that they must have been some compromise though and there are indications that Russo might stay with the team.
