Manchester United Board Hold ‘Extraordinary Meeting’ Over Antony And Greenwood – Report

‘An unusual all-staff meeting’ was called by Manchester United to discuss how the team handled Mason Greenwood and Antony-related problems.

Greenwood joined Getafe on a season-long loan after departing Old Trafford last month following the club’s internal inquiry into his behavior.
The 21-year-old was placed on indefinite leave by United in January 2022 following his arrest and subsequent charges of attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault by the Manchester Police. Even though the allegations against Greenwood were dropped in February, United chose to look into the situation on their own, ultimately choosing to lend the player to Getafe.
Meanwhile, Antony has been given a mutually agreed-upon leave of absence after being accused of domestic violence. Gabriela Cavallin, the 23-year-old’s ex-girlfriend, claims that Antony physically assaulted her numerous times when they were dating in Manchester and in their native Brazil.
The Athletic has now reported that United’s chief executive Richard Arnold convened a significant meeting with club employees to discuss, among other things, Greenwood and Antony.
According to The Athletic When asked if he could assure the staff that Greenwood wouldn’t rejoin United’s starting lineup, Arnold responded, “There’s no expectation that Mason playing for Manchester United.”
