In addition, it appears doubtful that Lucas Paqueta of West Ham will go. He is a player Pep Guardiola is familiar with because he was in the Barcelona academy when he was in charge at the Nou Camp. Leipzig, though, is not looking to offload another important player this summer.

Josko Gvardiol has joined Manchester City. Olmo has a £51 million release clause in his contract after helping Leipzig defeat Bayern Munich last week. But that won’t kick in until the summer of 2024.

Leipzig coach Marco Rose said: “There are too many rumours.

“At some points it`s enough.

“We lost many players in the end I need a team to play football with.

“As far as Olmo to City goes, I could say ‘never ever’ but I won’t say it.”

The Football Association is looking into Lucas Paqueta for possible violations of the betting rules, according to multiple reports from English media outlets.

The 25-year-old West Ham midfielder has been connected to a transfer to Manchester City. Paqueta was left off of Brazil’s World Cup qualifying roster on Friday “to give him time to resolve his issues.”

Paqueta was quoted by Sky Sports as denying placing any bets himself and expressing disbelief at the accusations. The probe, which is also rumored to involve Fifa, is thought to be focused on wagers made in Brazil on yellow cards given to Paqueta.
