With a skillfully constructed goal, England’s Maddison gave Spurs the lead against Bournemouth in the 17th minute. After finding a gap in the Bournemouth defense, the Englishman had a straightforward finish from close range.

Richarlison missed a great opportunity to score his first goal of the new season from close range in the first half, which would have given the visitors a two-goal advantage.

After falling behind, Bournemouth was demoralized but rallied just before halftime. Ryan Christie’s powerful shot forced a strong save from Guglielmo Vicario, and Philip Billing saw his attempt swerve wide.

Dejan Kulusevski, a Swedish winger, dashed any dreams of a comeback in the 63rd minute with a goal against the flow of play in which he met a cross from Yves Bissouma and sent a shot into the bottom corner.

Bournemouth were unable to respond, and Spurs easily finished off the game as Postecoglou’s promising tenure as manager continued.

Meanwhile…

Mauricio Pochettino claims that despite Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson’s exploits against Luton Town, Chelsea still wants to sign another forward.

The first victory under Pochettino came on Friday night as Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. Sterling scored twice before setting up Jackson for his first goal for the Blues.

Similar to how they did the previous Saturday in the loss against West Ham, the two forwards put on a fantastic performance against the Hatters.
