Lyon Vs Chelsea Headline UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarter Final Draw

The draw for the 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) knockout stage took place on Friday with the clash between holders, Lyon and English Champions, Chelsea as the top clash of the draw.

Eight teams made it to the quarter-final with two teams each from England, France, and Germany.
A team each from the Spanish Liga F and Italia Serie A completed the quarter-final lineup.
The draw was well explained by the Head of the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Head, Women’s Football Competitions, David Gough.
UEFA Ambassador and 2022 Women’s Euro Champions, Ellen White who is expecting her first child was the draw assistant.
The German side, Bayern Munich came out first from the draw to face Barclays English FA Women’s Super League (WSL) outfit, Arsenal FC.

Holders, Lyon were drawn to face WSL Champions, Chelsea FC in what is touted to be a star match.
2020/2021 Champions, FC Barcelona will face debutant, AS Roma while PSG and Wolfsburg will trade tackles in the last quarter-final pairing.
Meanwhile…
There is a likelihood of a repeat of last season’s final between Lyon and Barcelona in the semi-final if both sides win their quarter-final games.
