Written By Onyeka Daniel

English Premier League side, Liverpool haven’t had the best of start to the 2022/23 season. After playing 6 games in the EPL and two in the UEFA Champions League, the Reds have just 3 wins from these games and two losses (against Manchester United and Napoli).

More Details

Overall, they’ve been really unconvincing and the club plan to make some additions to the squad and have identified several players that they feel will help raise the level of the team.

Top on their list is Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele and while the transfer might seem impossible, as the player recently signed a two years contract with the Blaugrana during the summer transfer window, new details have emerged that could help the EPL club land the Frenchman.

When Dembele’s contract with Barcelona expired, it was thought that he would leave the club, but he did go in to sign a two years contract which reportedly has a release clause stating that he can leave Spain for £42 million in the summer.

Dembele was brought in to replace Neymar Junior, who left for PSG for around £135 million, but has so far failed to live up to that price tag until recently.

This new found form will surely attract the interest of other clubs and Liverpool are waiting, ready to make a move when presented with the opportunity.

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Dembele and he could be brought in to replace Sadio Mane who left the club to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Brazilian midfielder, Joao Gomes is attracting the interest of top clubs in Europe and he could make the jump from the Brazilian League where he plays for Flamengo to a top European club according to reports.

Liverpool are said to be eyeing the midfielder to bring some creativity to their team as the team struggle to break down oppositions this season.

It’s claimed that Real Madrid are also interested in landing the 21-year-old, who is currently tied down to a long-term contract. The report claims Gomes could be available for a fee of £26 million.
