18-year-old Colombian forward, Linda Caicedo has emerged as the winner of the 2023 Golden Girls award ahead of other players in the Spanish top-flight Liga F.

The Golden Girl Award is meant for players under the age of 21 meaning Caicedo is the best women’s player in the world under the age of 21.
Golden Girl Award is organised by the Italian magazine “Tuttosport” and had several Spanish top-flight women’s football league players among its finalists.
The young player is a great promise in the world of football, she already demonstrated it with her brilliant performance in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with her national team, although she demonstrated it in the same way every weekend wearing the shirt of the Madrid team, where It has become essential for Alberto Toril’s side.
At only 18 years old, her outstanding role on the field of play has made her a fundamental piece for her club since February of this year, when she landed in the capital to be one of the team’s most disruptive players.
She broke out at the 2023 FIFA World Cup for Colombia, helping lead them to the quarterfinals while also scoring what was eventually voted Goal of the Tournament.

They include the FIFA Puskas Award, and FIFA The Best Player of the Year (POTY). She finished ninth in the Women’s Ballon d’Or before winning the Golden Girl award.
