The United States (U.S.) leads Group A with a +9 goal differential through two games.

Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan also contributed goals on Friday, with Horan delivering from the penalty spot.

Friday’s game was the third straight in which a teenager has scored for the U.S. for only the second time in history, due to a running streak between Shaw and Olivia Moultrie dating back to December.

The Gold Cup openers, however, are the first time two USWNT teenagers have recorded successive multi-goal games.

Shaw is the seventh USWNT player to score in her first two games with the senior team, and the second youngest.

Shaw's start was indicative of a larger rotation for the U.S., who replaced ten players in the starting XI after the team's opener on Tuesday likely due to fitness and recovery time.

Korbin Albert, who is in mid-season fitness with PSG, was the only USWNT player to start both games.

Despite a Mariana Larroquette strike from a distance that hit the post, the U.S. held Argentina to just one shot on target.
