With the transfer market deadline fast approaching, one piece of transfer that is expected to go through before then is that of unwanted Italy defender, Leonardo Bonucci leaving Juventus.
The Italy international is expected to sign a one-year deal with Bundesliga side, Union Berlin by tomorrow after undergoing his medical. He has already left Turin as a video shared on social media today shows the 36-year-old at Caselle Airport before boarding a flight for Germany.
Bonucci was no longer part of Juventus‘ plans and had been working separately throughout the summer. He didn’t even join the team for a pre-season tour in the USA in July, remaining in Turin to work with other players out of Juventus’ project.
The German side are looking to bring in some experienced players to their squad after qualifying for the UCL and have already signed Robin Gosens from Inter Milan.
Italian side, Udinese are set to conclude the summer transfer window with at least two new signings. This is according to Italian transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports that both Payero and Davis are set to move to the Dacia Arena undergoing their medical today.
Payero is an Argentinean centre midfielder under contract with English Championship side Middlesbrough. The 24-year-old joined the English side in the summer of 2021 and spent the last season on loan at Boca Juniors. Davis, 25, is a centre-forward under contract with Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Englishman is expected to replace Beto in attack, who recently joined Everton, but according to Di Marzio, Udinese have also made one last attempt to sign Nigeria international Dennis from Nottingham Forest. Udinese have started their 2023-24 Serie A campaign with one point in two games, losing to Juventus and drawing away at Salernitana.
