Napoli fought their way to a hard earned 2-0 victory over visiting Empoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples on Tuesday night.

The first half ended goalless with Empoli defending compactly and frustrating the Napoli attack for most part of the game.
The second half started much like the first with Napoli pressing and looking for that cutting edge which finally arrived when Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen won a penalty for the hosts with Hirving Lozano stepping up to convert in the 69th minute.
Luciano Spalletti’s men weren’t done even after the first goal and kept pushing until they sealed the victory through Piotr Zielinski’s well taken goal in the 88th minute to help his team open up an eight point lead over second place Milan who played later.
That was Napoli’s tenth consecutive victory in the Italian Serie A this season.

Current champions AC Milan failed to beat relegation threatened Cremonese at the Stadio Giovanni Zinni.
Stefano Pioli started with a rotated squad by allowing Rafael Leao some rest by starting on the bench while Malick Thiaw started on the right side as part of a three man defence.

The Rossoneri were unable to get past Italy U-21 goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi who was deputising for injured number one Ionut Radu.
The young Italian goalkeeper was full of excitement after the game and said he was happy to help his team secure a point.
“I’m glad I was able to help with my contribution” he said after after the game.
Milan are now eight points off the pace following Napoli’s two nil victory over Empoli earlier in the day.
