Inter were in Portugal for the second leg of their Champions League encounter where they secured a goalless draw to progress to the last eight of the competition.
However, a meeting with Barcelona was said to have taken place and it revolves around a possible swap deal involving Marcelo Brozovic and Franck Kessie.
The Blaugrana are willing to let go the Ivorian midfielder who wants more playing time and also fancied a return to Italy.
Brozovic on his part is no more indispensable at Inter following his return from injury with Hakan Calhanoglu making the pivot role his own.
Both clubs are open to the possibility but the details of the discussion haven’t been revealed yet.
Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba were also in the discussion as both players seemingly have no future at the Spanish club.
Meanwhile…
Inter Milan are having a serious issue down the left side of the defence with a couple of players out injured.
Robin Gosens suffered an injury just before the Porto game and couldn’t make the trip.

Alessandro Bastoni has now joined him on the treatment table as he was forced off the pitch in the tie against the Portuguese club.
“Alessandro Bastoni underwent assessment this morning at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano after injury in Porto.
The examinations showed a sprain to the left thigh muscle. His condition will be re-evaluated next week.” The club wrote via their official website.
Inter host Juventus this weekend at the San Siro with both players officially ruled out of the tie.
It could mean a slight change in the line up for the Nerazzurri who are second behind Napoli.
