The international break could have come at the right time for Inter Milan who are struggling to find their form.

More Details

Simone Inzaghi has found his job become more difficult since the start of this season with struggles domestically which has seen the Nerazzurri lose three games already after just seven rounds of matches.

Inzaghi was hired at the beginning of last season as replacement for title winning Antonio Conte who left the club due to differing visions.

The former Lazio manager won the Coppa Italia and the Super Coppa Italiana in his first season where he also led the Nerazzurri to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2012.

However, this season has not worked out exactly the way it was planned with Inzaghi struggling to get the team going.

After seven games and twelve points accrued, the international break couldn’t have come at a better time for the 19 time champions.

Tensions have risen in the club due to unfavourable results but the club despite the rough patch has assured that the coach’s job is not at risk.

TuttoSport on the topic of the Nerazzurri’s struggles writes that wholesome changes could be seen at the resumption of club football just after the international break.

Andre Onana is the most talked about, the Cameroonian has been touted by many to take the place of veteran Samir Handanovic who appears to have lost his reflexes.

Another expected change in the line up is the central defensive role where new signing Francesco Acerbi after impressing in games against Victoria Plzen in the Champions League and Udinese in the league is expected to permanently displace out of form Stefan De Vrij.

Another department that’s expected to be defined is that of the left centre back where Alessandro Bastoni has been frequently alternated with Federico Di Marco, the former is expected to be given a more guaranteed role after showing displeasure at being substituted in the first half against Udinese.

Romelu Lukaku’s return to the fold after a few weeks out should be a welcome boost especially for Lautaro Martinez who has seemed isolated most times since the absence of the Belgian.

Two players will see their contracts expire at the end of the current season with one of them expected to say his goodbye.

Milan Skriniar after coming from a summer of uncertainty over his Nerazzurri future is expected to sign a new contract before the end of the year.

However, defensive partner Stefan De Vrij whose contract also expires next summer is expected to leave the club as there’re no plans to offer him a new contract as per TuttoSport.

De Vrij joined Inter in 2018 as a free agent after leaving lazio at the expiration of his contract and could now be leaving the Nerazzurri after five years come the end of the current season.

Skriniar meanwhile is in his sixth season at the Meazza and could be set to continue with the club for next few years.
