Herve Renard Names First French Women’s Team Roster With Le Sommer’s Return

The newly appointed coach of the French women’s national team, Herve Renard has named his first squad.
Eugenie Le Sommer made a return to the squad for the first time since 2021.
Lyon veteran defender, Wendie Renard has been included in the team.
Kadidatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto who alongside Renard had been vocal about boycotting the FIFA Women’s World Cup if no managerial changes were done leading to the sack of Corinne Diacre are both injured.
Diani picked up a shoulder injury on Thursday after scoring for PSG as the French side bowed out of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the quarter-final stage to Wolfsburg.
France hosts Colombia on April 7 and Canada four days later in friendlies as World Cup preparation reaches the final stage.
France Football Federation (FFF) on Thursday finalised Hervé as the new coach of the Women’s National Team through to August 2024.

A presentation press conference was held on Friday at the headquarters of the FFF when the list for upcoming friendlies was announced.
Renard will lead the French Women’s National team at the Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympics in France.
