The Nerazzurri were 1-0 up as early as the 5th minute. A pass from Marcus Thuram finds Federico Dimarco and he was able to square to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who scores from close range, giving the goalkeeper no chance. In the 38th minute, they were 2-nil up in the 38th minute as Thuram was able to find a space in the box to beat the keeper with an angled drive.

They were able to take this advantage into the half time break. The Rossoneri came out in the second half as they tried to get back into the game and they were able to grab a goal in the 57th minute through Portuguese forward, Rafael Leao.

In the 69th minute, Mkhitaryan grabbed his brace to restore his team’s 2 goal advantage. He picks up the ball inside the box, finds himself in a good position and fires in a shot which is deflected past Mike Maignan. The Rossoneri further compounded their woes as Hernandez brings an opponent down inside the box and the referee points to the spot.
