“He Makes It Easier To Play With Him”

Yesterday, Inter Milan made a short work of their city rivals, AC Milan in the derby, whipping them 5-1, a scoreline that doesn’t reflect the fact that it’s a match between two teams looking to compete for the Serie A title this season.

French forward, Marcus Thuram was very instrumental in that win, as his effort was what lead to the opening goal, before creating something out of almost nothing with the second goal, to grab his second goal for the club since making the move to the club in the summer.
He seems to have formed a formidable partnership with club captain and fellow striker, Lautaro Martinez and even though the latter didn’t manage to get his name on the score sheet, Thuram acknowledged his input in the game.

He feels that playing alongside Martinez makes everything easier for him and made this known in his own post match interview with Sky sports after yesterday’s derby win. The 26-year-old praised his strike partner as one of the best players in the world in his position.
After four matches in an Inter shirt, former Borussia Monchengladbach striker Thuram is already making his mark. Yesterday’s goal against Milan was his second for the Nerazzurri. The sense now is that there are certainly more to come. Thuram has wasted no time in integrating and finding his feet at Inter.
And key to the Frenchman’s quick integration has been his functional relationship with Martinez. The Argentine did not get on the scoresheet yesterday as he had done in Inter’s three matches of the season.
But, as usual, he did just about everything else. Wearing the captain’s armband, Martinez has been the player who sets the tone at Inter. And Thuram has benefited from this arguably more than anyone else.
Rather than having to figure the attack out all by himself, the 26-year-old has had Martinez to play off of, and all signs are pointing to a fruitful partnership between the two strikers.
Thuram said that “I knew that Inter are a great team, with great players.” He continued that “That makes it easier to play. And that’s what we’re doing on the pitch.” “Lautaro is our captain,” Thuram noted. “He’s a great player, one of the best strikers in the world.”
“Playing with him makes everything easier,” the striker said of his captain and attacking partner. And of Inter’s Champions League match against Real Sociedad in a few days, Thuram said that “We’re thinking one match at a time.” “Every match in Serie A is tough,”
“We’ll train, and then see what happens.” He further added. The Nerazzurri currently have four wins after four games in the Italian Serie A and will be preparing to face Spanish side, Real Sociedad next in the UCL on Wednesday as they look to have a repeat of last season performance where they got to the final of the UCL.

The Rossoneri struggled to match the quality of their opponent and after conceding early on, it was an uphill battle from start to finish. In the end, the Nerazzurri won 5-1, their fifth straight win in a derby match, all in one year.
It’s clear that the Rossoneri still have a lot to work on. The highest rating he got was a 4/10 and he alongside centre-back, Dominik Thiaw was considered the worst in the game.
