Arsenal’s hope of securing Champions League football for next season all but ended on Monday night at St James’ Park as the Gunners went down 2-0 to Newcastle.

An own goal from Ben White and a late Bruno Guimaeres goal condemned Arsenal to their most painful defeat of the season at the hands of a rejuvenated Newcastle.

Xhaka was critical of his teammates as he claimed they failed to play to the coach’s tactical instructions while also firing shots at those stars who’re not ready to give their all in the top four push.

Arsenal legend and former England striker Ian Wright has however condemned the timing of Xhaka’s outburst saying it could have been better said before the game or in the dressing room.

“Seeing a player coming out and saying they didn’t listen to the coach’s instructions is a very strange interview from Granit Xhaka,” Wright told Premier League MatchDay Extra , per HITC. “I felt it’s the kind of talk you want before the game. It’s very easy to say afterwards because, the Tottenham game, you come out and say it then.

“To say it now, I don’t think it helps anybody. It’s very magnanimous of him to come out be honest. That’s the kind of talk you want in the dressing room for them to understand when you go out there, then you know what you need to do.

“Afterwards, it probably makes people upset, especially when you aren’t naming names.” Arsenal will need to defeat Everton at home on the final day of the season to have any chance of finishing in the top four.”

Tottenham are now prime favorites to nick the last spot for Champions League qualification with only a draw needed on the last day of the season away to already relegated Norwich City.

West Ham United are monitoring Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis who arrived at Vicarage Road last summer from Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

The Hammers are keen to strengthen their squad as they prepare for yet another season in Europe after reaching the semi finals of the Europa League this season where they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt.

David Moyes is keen to strengthen his squad especially in terms of depth and has identified Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis as an ideal player for his team.

The 24 year old has scored ten goals for the Hornets this season and is due for a pay cut following his club’s relegation from the Premier League according to the Mirror.

Dennis is valued at £20m by Watford due to Club Brugge being entitled to a certain percentage of his sell on fee which means negotiations will be a bit difficult as they’re likely to quote a high price.
