Gotze rejects Inter Miami move

Mario Gotze has rejected a proposal to move to David Beckham owned, MLS club, Inter Miami according to BILD.

The American club which is reportedly set to complete the signing of Juventus’ 2018 World Cup winner, Blaise Matuidi had their eyes set on Germany’s golden boy of 2014 but the offer has been turned down by the player.

Gotze, 28, is currently a free agent after leaving the current Bundesliga runners-up, Borussia Dortmund upon expiry of his contract. He is reportedly still evaluating offers from European clubs as he would prefer to stay in Europe.

The midfielder lost his place in the Dortmund starting eleven last season as Jadon Sancho, Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt were ranked ahead of him in the pecking order. The emergence of American teenager, Giovanni Reyna has also not helped his cause as Gotze was limited to only fifteen appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring just three goals.
