Germany And Portugal Name Squad For 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

German women’s national team has released its 28-player squad for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The team comprises four goalkeepers, eight defenders, and 16 players that will be slotted into the midfield and attacking positions.
Chelsea goalkeeper and hero during the London side’s elimination of Lyon in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) quarter-final, Ann-Katrin Berger headline the goalkeeping department.
Merle Fromms, Stina Johannes, and Ena Mahmutovic complete the goalkeeping position.
Wolfsburg captain, Alexandra Popp also made the squad in a bid to reclaim the World title after its loss to England last year in the UEFA Women’s Euros.
Other notable players on the list include Sjoeke Nusken, Carolin Simon, Jule Brand, Nicole Anyomi, Sara Däbritz, Svenja Huth, Lina Magull, Lena Oberdorf, Lea Schuller, and Tabea Wabmuth.
Germany will face Morocco, Colombia, and Korean Republic in Group H at this year’s tournament which will hold in Australia and New Zealand.
