Genoa In Talks For Lazio Fullback

Written by Dare Solomon
Genoa are pushing to buy Lazio Mohammed Fares before the transfer window closes tonight.
According to Laziali, Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 25-year-old Algerian full back is keen for a change of scenery, wanting to find more consistent playing time and more of a chance to show his abilities.
Lazio president, Claudio Lotito values Fares at around €7 million and is refusing to budge from that valuation, although further talks with Genoa could still change that.

The 25-year-old joined Lazio last October for €7 million from Spal playing 21 games and providing 1 assist.
Developments are expected later today, with both parties keen to reach a deal. Fares comes with good experience as the Algerian made 6 champions league appearances for the Biancocelesti last season.

Lazio and Hellas Verona have agreed on Mattia Zaccagni’s price tag, but the Biancocelesti are still negotiating with the player.
Zaccagni’s contract expires in June 2022 and he has already informed his club that he is not willing to extend his stay at the club.
Zaccagni is expected to replace Joaquin Correa at the Stadio Olimpico as the Argentine has joined Inter on a loan deal with an option to buy that could later become an obligation under certain conditions.
Sky Sport Italia via footballitalia claimed Lazio have reached an agreement with Verona on an €8m move plus €2m add-ons.
However, the Biancocelesti are still negotiating with the creative midfielder who has demanded a €2 million-a-year deal, while Lazio offer €2m.
Lazio have a few hours to finalize the deal as the deadline day in Serie A ends today at 8 pm local time, 7 pm in the UK.
According to the report, Verona are considering replacing Zaccagni with Sampdoria striker Gianluca Caprari.
