The gaffer said that he is confident the player can stay despite the rumours in which case anything can still happen.

“I am really confident. You know at the end of the day these things happen. When players are doing well, you get this rumours that I don’t know how true they are. I am not too sure how much propaganda is involved,” Taylor told Sky Sports.

“We are trying to just normalise things and make sure that the players keep their fitness. We are doing well at the moment and on a good run of unbeaten form.

City’s opponents coach, Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall is not happy with the regulation guiding the league and league cup for women.

“I think how you use the suspensions between the league and the league cup is an absolute joke. How you can get a red card in the league for two yellow cards and be suspended for a league cup game and come back to play in the league.

“I don’t see how you mix two competitions especially when all teams in the league are not part of the competition at the group stage. It make it more weird,” Jonas stated.

“I think when you look at any competition, what you would like to have is clear rules of if that happens, this is the consequence of it. This means it is very unpredictable for any team or player taking part in it.

“I can give you an example of Aston Villa fielding an ineligible player for example. Where I come from in Sweden when yoi field an ineligible player and there is a clear outcome of what happens if you do that. I don’t think that is difficult when you have a competition.

“There shouldn’t have to be a committee or tribunal having to do a meeting on case by case basis. That hae to do with the problem of women’s football than league cup.

“As a result of weather conditions, games are rarely coanceled. If a game is canceleed as a result of that, it will be moved to the second day or played at the reserve field.” He concluded.
