It’s another weekend, meaning another round of English Premier League games for the fantasy League enthusiast. After witnessing a change in hierarchy at the top of the table after Manchester City defeated Arsenal in their week 12 rescheduled game to go top of the table, it’s will be another opportunity for both teams to try and put a grab points in the race for the EPL title.

More Details

The previous round was filled with draws and we didn’t see plenty of goals scored. With Manchester City and Arsenal playing two games each, it’s quite obvious why their players scored some of the highest points in the FPL. Riyad Mahrez (14), Jack Grealish (13), Kevin De Bruyne (15) and Erling Haaland (10) after defeating Aston Villa and Arsenal by the same scoreline, 3-1. Bukayo Saka also got 15 points in total after scoring the equalizer in the loss to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw also scored 12 points due to an assist he got against Leeds United while Newcastle United midfielder, Miguel Almiron got 10 points for his goal against Bournemouth. Carlos Alcaraz was on the score sheet for Southampton in their 2-1 loss to Wolves and he got 10 points for his efforts.

Before delving into the possible teams and players that can give the best chance of scoring high points in the FPL for this week, lets take a look at some players that have seen their price rise or fall since the last week.

Despite scoring a goal in the previous week, Arsenal winger, Leandro Trossard has seen his price fall, alongside Alex Moreno of Aston Villa, Mykhailo Mudryk of Chelsea and Palhinha of Fulham. On the rising side, we have Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Joao Felix and Luke Shaw.

Top Picks For The Week…

For this week’s rounds, we have Arsenal going away to Aston Villa and both teams will be seeking redemption for different reasons and expect to see a couple of goals, keeping an eye on Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and Martin Odegaard for the Gunners who will be keen to get back ontop of the EPL table.

Brentford against Crystal Palace looks like a game that can swing either ways, in terms of goals, but one should keep an eye on Ivan Toney. Brighton vs Fulham is just another banana skin fixture. For Chelsea, they couldn’t have picked the worst possible time to face Southampton, a side that just sacked their coach and have been drawn into the relegation battle, hence are in desperate need of points for survival.

We will probably see a goal or two in this encounter. Nottingham Forest against Manchester City looks promising but with City set to play RB Leipzig in the UCL after this game, we could see some rotation in the squad, so don’t keep your hopes up in the regulars starting the game against Forest.

Newcastle United will come up against Liverpool and it definitely looks like a low scoring game as the Reds are currently short on confidence, against a Newcastle side that has conceded less goals lately (3 goals conceded in 5 games). Manchester United vs Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham will wrap up the remaining fixture for the week.

For United, it will be a close game, but expect them to win by some margin, especially in the second half. Marcus Rashford will probably get a goal or two while Harry Kane will be rearing to get back his scoring form as the last time he scored a goal was in the win against Manchester City on the first week of February.. Brentford goalkeeper, David Raya, David De Gea of Manchester United and Arrizabalaga of Chelsea looks like a safe bet to keep clean sheets.
