Fantasy Premier League Preview (2022/23): Week 21

Written By Onyeka Daniel
It’s week 21 in the English Premier League round of matches, meaning another opportunity for fantasy Premier League players to arrange and reshuffle their team to get those maximum points and move up in their respective FPL leagues. The last round was a bit chaotic as some teams played two matches, left over from their previously postponed matches.
More Details
But for this week, it’s just one round of matches, but we’re going to see four big teams squaring up against each other when Liverpool face Chelsea in the early kick off game and Arsenal take on Manchester United in what could be a title decider match. Before we proceed, a quick look at some of the players with the highest FPL points in the previous round.

Top Picks For The Week …
Since we’re in the January transfer window and clubs are already signing players, now would be a good time to acquire those new signings before their price will appreciate and go up with the likes Mykhailo Mudryk of Chelsea and Cody Gakpo of Liverpool still commanding decent fees.
In the first game for this round, we will see Liverpool take on Chelsea and expect the likes of Mo Salah and Kai Havertz to either be on the score sheet or at the end of any good thing happening to their respective team.
Leicester Vs Brighton is another potential for goals, but the home team’s struggle to avoid relegation could stifle the free scoring Brighton side. Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United looks like another game that would produce less goals, unlike Southampton vs Aston Villa and West Ham Vs Everton.
Manchester City against Wolves could be an opportunity for Erling Haaland to get back to scoring goals for the defending Champions and giving him the Captain’s armband would be another chance to get those few extra points.

Arsenal vs Manchester United is a game that can go either way, in terms of result and goals scored. It will be hard for Brentford goalkeeper, David Raya to keep a clean sheet against Leeds, but he represents the best bet among the EPL goalkeepers for FPL points.
Tottenham will be keen to get back on track after losing their last two games against Arsenal and Manchester City but they will find a tough opponent in Fulham, especially away from home too, but expect Harry Kane to at least score a goal.
