Bayern Munich were on a four-point lead at the top of the table ahead of last weekend’s game with Bayer Leverkusen which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Wolfsburg took the opportunity to reduce the margin at the top of the log to two points after defeating Meppen.
A win for Bayern Munich over relegated Postdam Sunday will seal the title irrespective of the result of the other game between Wolfsburg and Freiburg.
Wolfsburg will need a win and hope Bayern Munich loses or draw its game to retain the title.
