The North Carolina Courage began a new era as they open the 2023 NWSL regular season on Saturday, March 25, against the defending league runner-up Kansas City Current at WakeMed Soccer Park.

More Details

The Courage begins their seventh season since relocating from Western New York with nine new faces from a season ago and a new look in several facets.

Midfielder Denise O’Sullivan has been named the second captain in the history of the Courage, one of the few remaining players from the roster that brought three NWSL Shields and a pair of NWSL Championships.

She led 17 returners, four first-round draft picks, three NWSL additions in Emily Fox (Louisville), Estelle Johnson (Gotham), and Tyler Lussi (Angel City), and international signings Mille Gejl (Denmark) and Narumi Miura (Japan), both of whom have extensive experience abroad for both clubs and country.
